Phones, notifications, and constant input can pull us out of presence. On the mat, we’re invited back to our breath, body, and the sacred here and now. Brahmacharya isn’t about avoiding pleasure—it’s about choosing what truly nourishes us. The mat becomes a sanctuary from overstimulation.
Weekly Yoga Practice: A Screen-Free Sensory Flow
Dim the lights. Remove all electronics. Practice a slow, mindful flow that invites awareness to your senses:
Standing Forward Fold
Tree Pose (Vrksasana)
Triangle Pose (Trikonasana)
Reclined Twist
Savasana with eye pillow
Keep your gaze soft and internal throughout. Focus on feeling rather than achieving.
Our mantra for the week is…
I unplug from distraction and plug into presence.
Our journaling prompts are…
How does being screen-free during practice shift my focus?
What messages do I receive from my body when I truly listen?
How can I carry this presence into the rest of my day?
And our meditation is…a meditation to give yourself time to unplug from distraction
Practice Trataka (candle gazing) for 5 minutes. Gaze at a candle flame with steady eyes, allowing your attention to settle and your mind to clear.
