Every pose we take on the mat is an expression of energy. Brahmacharya asks: Are you scattering your energy, or containing it? Practicing with awareness helps us draw energy inward, rather than constantly pouring it outward.
Weekly Yoga Practice: A Grounding Sequence for Containment
Focus on postures that build inner strength and stability:
Mountain Pose (Tadasana)
Chair Pose (Utkatasana)
Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana)
Low Lunge with hands at heart center
Seated Meditation in Sukhasana
Use Bandhas (energy locks) to draw energy inward, especially Mula Bandha (root lock) in standing poses.
Our mantra for the week is…
My energy is sacred. I honor it with every breath and boundary.
Our journaling prompts are…
How do I use my energy? Do I guard it or give it away too freely?
What yoga poses make me feel contained, whole, and strong?
What would it look like to honor my energy with reverence?
And our meditation is…a meditation to connect to and gather your energy
Visualize a golden light at your navel. With each inhale, gather energy inward. With each exhale, imagine this light growing stronger and steadier.
