Practice Lives Everywhere

When we hear the word practice, we often picture yoga poses. But practice is so much bigger than what happens on the mat. Practice is anything you choose to do with intention that helps you reconnect with yourself. It might be taking your morning coffee outside instead of checking your phone.

Reading before bed.

Walking your dog without earbuds.

Journaling.

Gardening.

Meditating.

Laughing with friends.

Cooking dinner with music playing.

Practice isn’t measured by how impressive it looks. It’s measured by how it makes you feel.

Does it help you breathe a little easier?

Does it help you remember what matters?

Does it leave you feeling more grounded than before?

Those are the practices worth keeping. The beauty of yoga is that it teaches us awareness we can carry into every corner of our lives. Every moment becomes an opportunity to practice presence.

Our mantra for the week…

Presence is my daily practice.

Our journaling prompts are…

  • What daily ritual makes me feel most like myself?

  • Where do I rush through life without noticing the present moment?

  • What practice would I like to cultivate this month?

And our meditation is…a meditation to practice noticing (5 min)

Take three slow breaths.

Now bring your awareness to the sounds around you.

Notice without labeling.

Feel your feet touching the floor.

Notice your breath entering and leaving your body.

Ask yourself quietly:

“What is here that I usually miss?”

Sit with whatever arises.
