Letting Go of Comparison

Comparison is one of the quietest thieves of joy. It whispers, “You’re not doing enough,” “You’re not as good as them,” or “You should be further along.” These thoughts subtly steal our confidence, our peace, and our connection to the present moment.

This week, we turn inward and reclaim our power. You are not here to live someone else’s life. Your path is yours alone. Let’s return to our center and move through the world from that place of grounded clarity.

Weekly Yoga Practice: Comparison steals our joy—come back to yourself.

Practice Focus:

  • Balance & Core Flow: Tree Pose, Warrior III, Half Moon. Invite students to find their own version of balance, without forcing or fixing.

  • Core Awakening: Gentle core strengthening to build inner steadiness (Forearm Plank, Dead Bug variations).

  • Gaze: Soften the drishti (gaze point)—less focus on “nailing it,” more on feeling it.

Breathwork:

Equal ratio breathing (inhale 4, exhale 4) to foster balance internally.

Closing Reflection: How can you honor your journey without measuring it against anyone else’s?

Our mantra for the week is…

I walk my path with trust and clarity.

Our journaling prompts are…

Where does comparison show up in my life?

How does it affect my choices or my mood?

What would it feel like to simply trust my own path?

And our meditation is…a meditation to recognize and walk your own path

Seated or walking meditation. Visualize yourself on a peaceful trail through a forest or along a shoreline. With each breath, take a step along your own path. There’s no one ahead or behind—just you and the journey. Move slow and enjoy the journey.
