Aparigraha in Life: Finding Peace in Letting Go

There is a quiet kind of peace that lives on the other side of surrender. Not the forced kind of giving up, but the soft exhale that comes from no longer trying to hold it all together.

This week’s mantra reminds us that we don’t have to carry everything. That peace isn’t something we chase—it’s something we uncover when we’re brave enough to let go.

Through the lens of Aparigraha, we remember that our freedom doesn’t come from having more, doing more, or knowing all the answers. It comes from unclenching our fists and trusting that what is meant for us will remain.

Let go. Find peace in the empty hands and open heart.

Our mantra for the week is…

My peace lives in the freedom of letting go.

Our journaling prompts are…

  • What does peace feel like in my body and spirit?

  • What stories or expectations am I willing to let go of to find freedom?

  • How would my life feel with fewer “shoulds” and more space?

And our meditation is…a meditation to pause, breathe and respond.

Sit or lie down comfortably, with your palms resting face-up. Take a few deep breaths and gently close your eyes.

On each inhale, say silently: “I welcome peace.”

On each exhale: “I let go.”

Imagine your breath as waves washing away tension and clinging thoughts. Sit in the stillness of release. Let it nourish you. End by repeating: “My peace lives in the freedom of letting go.”
