Our physical cravings often reflect deeper emotional needs. Yoga teaches us to pause, breathe, and respond—not react. Brahmacharya encourages us to ask: Am I indulging out of habit, or acting from alignment? On the mat, we practice tuning in to subtle sensations rather than pushing toward extremes.
Weekly Yoga Practice: A Yin-Inspired Practice to Listen Within
Hold each pose for 3–5 minutes:
Butterfly Pose (Baddha Konasana)
Half Frog Pose
Reclined Twist
Supported Bridge (on a block)
Savasana with hands on belly and heart
Let this be a practice of receiving rather than doing. Stay close to sensation.
Our mantra for the week is…
I choose nourishment over numbing. I listen to what I truly need.
Our journaling prompts are…
When do I confuse indulgence with nourishment?
What am I truly hungry for—physically, emotionally, or spiritually?
How does slowing down help me find balance?
And our meditation is…a meditation to pause, breathe and respond.
Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly. With each breath, silently say: “I listen.” Breathe here for 5–10 minutes.
